Private Dog Training

across West Essex and East Hertfordshire & online consultations nationwide

Busy lifestyle juggling many things and finding it hard to commit to classes each week?  Feel more comfortable in your own home rather than in a group class situation?  Mobility or transport issues making it difficult to get to classes?  No problem!  I can come to you.

LOCKDOWN JANUARY 2021: In-person dog training is not permitted until further notice.

Do your work commitments mean that organising an in-home session is tricky?  No problem, we can arrange an online consultation (via Zoom or FaceTime) instead.

Using reward based training techniques with an understanding and adaptable way of teaching, I offer a range of package options suited to you and your puppy or adult dog.

Puppy Life Skills Coaching Package

The in-home Puppy Life Skills Course is where I coach you to train your puppy at home and can start even before your puppy arrives.  Sessions held outdoors in your garden or out on normal walking routes adopting social distancing due to COVID. Held across 5 sessions (1 hour in length each) and costing £300 (saving £75 compared to booking 5 slots individually), you receive a *FREE* copy of the Life Skills for Puppies book, a comprehensive set of handouts, personalised and tailored session recaps and lots of puppy goodies too.  Sessions can be fitted in to slot around your commitments.

I can help you train your puppy via Online consultations.  Via Zoom or FaceTime, you can use your phone, iPad or laptop for the sessions.  3 x 30 min sessions cost £75 and can be scheduled at your convenience.  5 x 30 min sessions cost £125 plus I’ll send you a free copy of the Life Skills for Puppies book in the post.

Online consultations

Online consultations are an excellent alternative to in-person meetings.  Using your phone / iPad or laptop we can meet via Zoom or FaceTime.   I can coach you live on how to teach your dog to do the things you wish, eg. not jump up, come back when called, walk nicely on the lead.

This method of teaching gets fantastic results and I can even join you on a virtual walk if you have a second person to hold your phone to film for you.

Online consultation costs are £25 for 30 min/ £46 for 1 hour.

Meet Lou Bater

Lou Bater, BSc (hons), APDT, UK (01275), ABTC Registered is an experienced reward based dog trainer and has enjoyed competing in an array of dog sports including Agility, Flyball and Canicross with her own dogs

“Our course with Louise gave Fidget and I a big start in the use of reward based training. The location is perfect – lots of real life distractions to be coped with during the session, which makes park life much easier to handle on morning walks…..The homework is great fun – the balls in the muffin tray game is a particular favourite. Thanks to Louise from Fidget and me!!”
